Nanny / Sitter Background Check

Did you know that 10% of background checks performed on childcare providers turn up something alarming?  Things such as shoplifting, drunk driving, and drug abuse show up daily!

Childcare providers often have access to  your home, know your family’s secrets, and are guardians of your most important assets – YOUR KIDS.

Find out if your child’s NANNY, BABYSITTER, TUTOR, etc. has a past that puts your child at risk!

Our Nanny/Sitter Background Check will access multiple data sources and billions of records to make sure your child is in trustworthy hands.  (Individual must be over the age of 18.)

Background Checks include the following:

  • Social Security/Identity Verification:

This search will be useful in checking to verify that this is an actual Social Security Number, and if there are any other names or aliases associated with this number.  This is very useful in determining if your childcare provider is really whom they say they are.  Additional aliases and names can be researched for a fee.

  • Criminal History:

We will check if they have any felony or misdemeanor convictions.

  • Motor Vehicle Driving History

This search will show any motor vehicle offenses in the state including speeding tickets, drunk drivinig, and reckless driving.  If your childcare provider will be driving your children, this is a must have!  Additional states can be checked for a fee.

  • Current and Previous Addresses:

This will verify the person’s address history.  This will be a valuable tool to verify that what they have said to you is the truth.  Also, a history of frequent address changes may demonstrate a pattern of instability that should be investigated.

  • Sexual Offender File Search:

A sex offender is typically an individual who has been convicted of a violent sexual crime such as rape, or someone who has committed a sexual offense against a child.  Information availability varies from state to state, but we will check in your state to see if they have a record of a sexual offense.

  • Professional License Verification:

If the childcare provider purports to hold a professional license, we can verify that this is true.  We will need the license number and state of issue.

  • Employment and Education Verification:

We will contact the last two employers of the individual to verify the date employed, title, and salary.  We will also contact a single educational institution to verify dates of attendance and degrees received.  We will make three attempts to contact these institutions.  Additional employers and education institutions can be contacted for an additional fee.

  • Reference Verification:

Your childcare provider may have provided you with a list of references.  We will contact the two of your choosing to verify that these are in fact valid references and that the reference recommends the childcare provider for this position.  We will make three attempts to contact these individuals.  Additional references can be called for a fee.

We will ask the following five questions of the references:

  • What is your relationship with this person and how long have you known them?
  • Do you consider this person to be trustworthy?
  • This person is being considered as a childcare provider.  Do you think they are qualified to have the responsibility for caring for a child?
  • This person is best suited to provide care for children of which age?
  • Would you hire this person to care for your children (if you have children)?

We will also use a neighbor questionnaire to ask questions of their direct neighbors.

  • All investigations will be conducted within the compliance of the law to avoid entrapment, invasion of privacy, misrepresentation, and trespassing.
  • Our fees will remain within your specific budget.
  • There will never be any fee for consultations.
  • Our investigators will be available to testify in front of a judge, jury, hearing or an arbitrator.
